5 critical features to consider when choosing your hosting provider
June 17, 2021 at 2:08 am 0
So, you or your client has finally pulled the trigger on a business license, brainstormed a genius blog idea, or purchased a domain name that promises to be the gateway to your future fortune. Now, it’s time to get your website up and running. But before you launch into copy, design, and development, you have to decide one small detail: Where will you host your site? Hosting may not sound like the sexiest part of building a website, but it’s one of the most important choices you’ll make. After all, your hosting service determines where in cyberspace your website will actually live — kind of like its virtual apartment (the domain is merely the address). And as anyone with noisy upstairs neighbours can attest, real estate is all about location, location, location — even online. Why you need a secret phone number (and how to get one)
June 17, 2021 at 2:08 am 0
Privacy Please is an ongoing series exploring the ways privacy is violated in the modern world, and what can be done about it. Your phone number was never meant to be an all-access pass to your life.  That 10-digit string has likely followed you around the world and across the internet for years. Over the course of that time, you've almost certainly handed it out — willingly or otherwise — to every person, restaurant, social media platform, or online store that's asked. That's a problem. For someone with the right motivation, that number is a thread which, once pulled, can unravel your entire digital life — crashing down your privacy, bank account, or even your very identity. Shudder's eerie 'An Unquiet Grave' trailer sees a resurrection gone badly wrong
June 16, 2021 at 1:58 am 0
If there's one thing that never seems to go well in horror films, it's resurrections. Bringing someone back from the dead, it turns out, is absolutely no cake walk (see: Pet Sematary). This is certainly the case in Terence Krey and Christine Nyland's An Unquiet Grave, which sees a grieving husband enlisting the help of his sister-in-law to bring his wife back from the dead. Needless to say things don't quite pan out as expected, and judging by the trailer it looks like the husband might also have a secret or two up his sleeve. An Unquiet Grave lands on Shudder June 24. 'Loki' cast test their knowledge to guess 'everything he's ever said'
June 16, 2021 at 1:58 am 0
In a highlight of Disney's cheeky new Loki series, the God of Mischief is asked to sign a document verifying everything he's ever said, ever.  So, for a fun little promo bit, Marvel gathered Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Wunmi Mosaku, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Owen Wilson to play a quote-guessing game. The rules? Wilson reads out a quote and they must guess whether or not it was said by the villainous Loki himself. See how much you know about Loki and everything he's ever said (hint: he might not be himself all the time, if you catch my drift). For example, who said this one? "I can feel the righteousness surging." Read more...More about Marvel Cinematic Universe, Loki, Entertainment, Comic Culture, and Movies Tv Shows

DC officially won't let Batman go down on Catwoman, and Twitter is in an uproar
June 15, 2021 at 1:49 am 0
It seems Batman is officially a selfish lover. So many years spent training to become a master detective, yet he may still have difficulty locating the G-spot. In a feature published on Monday, Variety explored how superhero stories are evolving in order to keep audiences engaged. However, it is an anecdote from Harley Quinn co-creator and executive producer Justin Halpern that has caught the internet's attention and imagination.  Speaking on the creative freedom that comes with writing villains rather than heroes, Halpern gave the example of a moment in the upcoming third season of the animated series where Batman was originally meant to be "going down" on Catwoman. Unfortunately, the higher ups at DC were having none of it. Read more...More about Batman, Dc Comics, Entertainment, Movies Tv Shows, and Web Culture
